When I was a kid, one of my favorite games to play in computer class was My Mathematical LifeI was a Sims addict, and virtual lives fascinated and enthralled me. MML allowed me to experience the highs and lows of life in the “real world”, from graduation to job searching, from marriage and kids to household running and bank account managing, going on vacations and making purchases, all through a system of bank accounts and choices to be made– all in the one-hour block and without leaving my elementary school.

Now that I’m an actual “grown up” — a college student with a toddler and all the normal day-to-day finances that go with being an adult, I wish I could go back to sitting in that computer lab, doing some simple calculations and clicking the mouse in order to manage my life.
