As you can guess, the best days of most cons are Friday and Saturday, and this year’s SDCC did not disappoint when it came to the excitement levels of news. So here we go friends – let’s take a look at the most incredible, nerd screaming information that has been released to the masses from San Diego Comic Con 2016 over the past two days! Are you excited? Because Princess Diana certainly is!
Hey there, friends! SDCC is here, ready to get you pumped for the pop culture onslaught that is coming your way for the next year and more. Though none of the DG team is at the con in person, there is tons of overall news to cover. So to keep things organized and to the point, DG will be posting the best news stories for each day of Comic Con, giving you the highlights so you don’t have to muddle through article after article. So without further ado, let’s check out Thursday’s offerings for SDCC 2016!
So, this weekend I was at ConnectiCon, a nerd gathering of smallish proportions in Hartford, CT. Ironically, a similar, yet much larger meeting was happening on the other coast–a little event you might know about called San Diego Comic Con. Yes, that is the one with all the movie sneak peeks, TV show panels, merchandise previews, and much much more. Though I did not attend the event, I was definitely on my phone, keeping myself up-to-date with the biggest stories, and as such I feel I can give you the (personal) coolest things I saw from this year’s SDCC….. online, at least.
It has been stated on this blog several times that I have an issue with fashion lines, clothes shopping, and sizing. This leads us into an interesting look at DC’s new “lifestyle” line, called Harleen.
Yes, friends, DC is digging more into the cash cow known as Harley Quinn to gain money from the masses. And it is a smart idea. I feed into it. I own so many Harley Quinn articles of clothing, keychains, figurines, and comics, that I will honestly buy more of the clothes. I’m a Harley cosplayer, it happens. But it raises some concerns for me, and others that I have talked to, about the sizing.
Though the biggest gaming news from SDCC may have been the announcement of The Last of Us movie (possibly starring Arya Stark, no less – I can only imagine the crossover fiction), there were enough exciting tidbits to keep our tanks – running low after the smorgasbord that was E3 – running. Let’s take a look at some of the more important announcements, and the women featured in them.
Please click the following link. A cosplayer was seriously injured at SDCC and the police are looking for help finding whoever did this.
Our hearts go out to this young girl. We wish you a swift recovery.
i09 just announced that the Firefly video game will have the whole crew back to do voice work. If you’re a Browncoat like me, there couldn’t be much better news (except maybe season 2…).
