DC’s New Films: Trailers and Footage – Oh My!

Some of you might have heard that last night was a pretty big event in the DC movie world. On the CW, after the premiere of a new episode of The Flash, we got a sneak peak into what DC is cooking up with Warner Brothers in terms of their cinematic adventures. We got some general info on the members of the Justice League, footage from the  Wonder Woman solo movie, and the debut of the first full-length Suicide Squad trailer. Was it good? Was it bad? Legendary Pictures Drop First “Warcraft” Trailer

Back in the day, I used to play a little game called Warcraft. Though I shortly gave up on the game, as my parents deemed it “too addictive” for my young self, I still found the world at least interesting to look at from a far. Now, many years later, it seems a trailer for the first ever Warcraft movie has officially dropped into the laps of the internet. And man, does it peak my interest.

Make it Red, Make it Green: The Deadpool Trailers are Here!

Ryan Reynolds plays former Special Forces operative-turned-mercenary Wade Wilson. After being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, he adopts the alter ego Deadpool. With his new abilities and a twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

I saw the Red Band trailer first, so there’s some sex, graphic violence, and adult language that’s been edited or cut from this trailer. But it still stays true to setting up the gritty, comedic tone that Deadpool is known for. I’m pleasantly surprised at how much of the comics origin story appears to be at play: Vanessa Carlysle, Blind Althea, Weasel, Ajax and the Weapon X program…. and hello, a surprise X-Man!

Last year, I wrote a piece about how I, the ever passionate and devoted Jem and the Holograms fan, had some mega concerns regarding the release of a live action film version. And almost an exact 12 months later, we have received our first look at the project, via some released screen shots and a trailer. And what does the internet (including myself) think of this? The reactions below are probably not what Jon Chu and the team at Blumhouse Productions were wanting to hear.
