It is with the saddest of hearts the movie world (and The Daily Geekette) says goodbye to legendary actor Bob Hoskins, who died at 71 today. (Source) He died from a bout of pneumonia, and earlier in 2012 he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.
If you don’t know Mr. Hoskins work, you might recognize him from such nostalgic 80’s/90’s classics as Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, Mermaids, and my personal favorite of all time, Hook, where Bob played the lovable Smee. He also was known for his intense dramatic roles, including his incredible work in The Long Good Friday. He even made movies like Maid in Manhattan and Spice World just a bit classier.
