Videogames to Look Out For in 2016

Alongside my gamer wish list for December, here is the list of games I am amped up about in 2016. 2016 is a big year for current franchises and small indie groups to step up and it’s plenty of time to start gaming and trying new things.

  1. Dishonored 2

If you loved Dishonored 1 and had a blast, I bet Dishonored 2 won’t disappoint. It will be released for Xbox One, Playstation 4, and Windows.  This game is full of interesting plot and tedious skill. Currently, there is no scheduled release date for this game.

2. Rise of the Tomb Raider

This is the sequel to the 2013 Tomb Raider game, and is an action-adventure game packed with plenty of skill and puzzles. This was already released for most in November, but will be available for Windows early 2016. This is a cool game to play if you haven’t already and if you love Tomb Raider, you better get on it.

3. Assassin’s Creed Chronicles

We have already received China in 2015, and in January we should get India and Russia in the next few months. You will be able to play these on most platforms. Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed franchises have really taken off with many adventures in different parts and times of the world. If you have not played the China one already, use your gift cards from the holidays to pick it up.  I am really looking forward to playing these next two games.

4. Dying Light Expansion: The Following

This is a standalone expansion for one of the most horrifying games I have played in the last two years. It was a new zombie game that had everyone on their toes (and having nightmares) with plenty of hard missions and skill. The expansion is set to come out in February. This will be free to anyone with the season pass, and contains more story, a new map, and vehicle piloting. If you do not already own Dying Light, you can get all of these together when it comes out.

5. Firewatch

This game is set to come out in February, and is a first-person adventure game. It will be for Windows and Playstation. This has been in the making for some time and I am really looking forward to trying something new. Campo Santos Productions has me really excited to play this game, as I love adventure games. You follow a volunteer working in the Fire Outlook in Yellowstone Park after the fires of 1988. This is a totally new setting and you get to do some exploration and investigation on the cause of the fires.

  1. Nice selection of games. I can’t wait for most of these. Also how did you get videos on your blog. The best I can figure out is uploading gifs 🙂
