Star Wars: The Force Awakens Theatrical Poster Released

The time has arrived for one of the most anticipated images of 2015 to be released. Yep, that’s right, the official theatrical poster for Star Wars: The Force Awakens is here, and thank the maker, it is beautiful. And full of Geekette-approved power, too!

Right off the bat, we can see Daisy Ridley’s character Rey, front and center. Clearly, as indicated by the D23 Expo exclusive poster for the movie, this character plays a huge role in the Star Wars  universe, and Disney is not gonna hide that aspect one bit. Let us all rejoice that she is the main attraction here, with her other male co-stars being showcased more to the side. Also important to note is our first real look at Carrie Fisher as Leia, who looks regal as heck, along with Han Solo, who looks dashing as ever.

Also featured is Captain Phasma (Gwendoline Christie) in the center bottom, leading her group of Stormtroopers. But probably the most interesting new reveal is what looks to be the new version of the Death Star, in the upper right hand corner behind Fin (John Boyega). I am beyond curious to see what all this means, which I’m sure we’ll learn about in the new trailer that’ll drop this Monday, during Monday Night Football on ESPN. We’ve been hearing rumors of an 8pm drop, so be ready to watch your TVs then.

New updates have also been released on movie theater specials related to the new Star Wars release, which you can read the whole list of at Star Wars.comOut of the ones I read, I’m the most interested in the AMC offer, which will give out new exclusive posters by artist Dan Mumford every Sunday when you see The Force Awakens. Clearly, Disney/Lucasfilm are not playing around, and know this movie will get repeated viewings no matter what.

So what do you think of the new Star Wars poster? Comment below and tell us your thoughts, hopes, and other Jedi or Sith dreams. How are you dealing with all this girl power awesomeness, Geekettes? Tell us all your feels.
